At Regesta LAB, we strongly believe in Intelligent Transformation, which is increasingly entering the interior of industrial companies, from organizational processes to production processes.
TIR – Smart Transformation with Regesta is a step-by-step path designed to accompany companies through the process of smart transformation. It stems from our experience as a means to bring innovation in a sustainable way and help companies remain competitive in the market, offer new services and, why not, create new business models.
Before starting this roadmap, it is necessary to keep in mind that it does not have a beginning and an end, and it does not have to have them! Each company, depending on its condition and status, can in fact be placed at different points on the roadmap, which it can customize according to its own goals and growth needs.

The stages of the TIR Route
1. Underlying any smart transformation project is data digitization, which is accomplished by implementing a “steering center” that enables two-way communication between sensorized machinery and the Internet.
2. Stage 2 begins by taking for granted the presence of the aforementioned government center that manages data collection: with this prerequisite, we can begin data consolidation in the cloud. The term cloud refers to a platform where we bring together IoT or IIoT data, as seen in the previous point, but also business data that is usually handled by ERP-SAP, MES or CRM systems. At this stage, data flows together from different sources, both geographically (imagine collecting data from different plants) and by type, such as billing data in SAP and IoT data from the production process. The platform uses the different technologies involved to govern in the appropriate way data with heterogeneous time frequency or of different formats (to cite two explanatory examples, images from a quality control camera and telemetry from a machine).
3. We have thus come to the “smart” part of our transformation journey. With the data at hand, it is now possible to implement real-time monitoring dashboards directly from IoT data sources to have both immediate visibility into the progress of a production process and analytics tools for statistical exploration of the data on the platform.
4. Some smart applications introduced earlier can also be further implemented. These are smart warehouse monitoring applications used for financial and production planning, or for servitization.
5. The time has come to talk about the concept of prediction. Whether it is an advanced statistical model for data correlation (data mining) or a supervised machine learning algorithm trained through neural networks, the purpose is always to anticipate events: in manufacturing it can certainly be useful to predict a possible failure, while in management we can use these digital assistants to plan ahead for demand or to support the marketing department in customer targeting activities.
6. While the previous step discussed digital assistants that support humans in taking action, in step 6 we see how Fully automate processes by relieving human operations of repetitive and low value-added activities. It is important to remember that it is not always necessary to take this approach. In fact, Regesta LAB’s role is also to support the client in analyzing its production process and assessing how and whether to intervene.

Regesta LAB is your ideal partner in the smart transformation process, as it combines knowledge of the new IoT and Big Data paradigms in the cloud with decades of solid experience in the SAP world.
