INDUSTRY 4.0 – Has Italy awakened?

Council Hall, Faculty of Engineering, University of Brescia, Via Branze 38, Brescia

Conference on opportunities and solutions for Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0, Fourth Industrial Revolution, Smart manufacturing, Internet of Things, Internet of Services, Internet of Energy, are all slogans that identify one phenomenon: the digital transformation of manufacturing activities. But what exactly is it all about? With this research we intend to go beyond words, investigating how this phenomenon is unfolding in the Italian industrial fabric. Thanks to more than 100 participating companies, we will give answers to these (and other) questions:

  • What are the enabling technologies of the revolution, how well known are they, and how much are they employed?
  • What are the expected benefits, for what processes?
  • What obstacles need to be overcome?
  • How useful can the Calende plan be?
