Last week, we participated, along with 10 other partners from EMEA and MEE, in the #Hack2Build event dedicated to SAP S/4HANA Cloud extensions with SAP BTP, taking second place on the podium.

With a great team effort carried out by a group of our DEV and UX Designers, we presented the solution Reg-Scale | Weigh it Easy, created to support inbound and outbound logistics for manufacturing companies.

It consists of. A set of applications, fully integrated with the SAP S/4HANA back-end for managing the entire flow of trucks, both inbound and outbound from the company, requiring weight control and related recording.

The solution is designed as a suite of applications, which starts with receiving and managing the truck scale, but aims to eventually cover vehicle self-registration and pre-registration of suppliers and customers as well.

In addition, dedicated apps are planned for companies that handle scrap. These apps will provide additional support for the classification of materials: using image recognition technology and a specific Machine Learning algorithm, the app will be able to suggest the probability of each type of scrap carried by the truck, before it is unloaded. Through current apps it is therefore possible:

  • Manage personal data of carriers, vehicles and drivers, including business partner information saved in the ERP system;
  • Record the entry of vehicles into the factory;
  • Carry out input and output weighing;
  • monitor the situation of yards inside or outside the company, knowing in real time what stage of the weighing cycle each truck is in.

So there may be trucks waiting for weigh-in, but already accepted; or trucks in the process of unloading or loading; and finally all trucks that have finished the cycle with weigh-out and left the factory, with the shipping documents being created automatically in the ERP system.

The team also developed specific configuration apps, allowing each company to customize the set-up of cameras, weighbridges and other devices.
