This project is part of Feralpi Group’s digital transformation path and meets the need to combine high product quality assurance and progressive reduction of time/cost to carry out the necessary checks.

The implemented solution provides the company with an integrated tool to collect a huge amount of data from IoT sources, ERP systems and various automation databases in an appropriate cloud architecture.

It therefore uses all the latest technologies based on predictive models and machine learning and puts the company in a position not only to have constant control over the steel casting process (the strategic heart of the company), but also to predict possible critical issues and, in case they still occur, to intervene quickly.

 

Thanks to the so-called Digital Twin, with more than 200 IoT sensors providing real-time data, operators have a monitoring panel of the casting stages that, with traffic lights turned on, provide immediate alerts on both any unexpected behaviors in the process or material and statistical predictions of their next occurrence.

This is a project that integrates the entire supply chain at the supply chain level and also allows machine learning models to be fed through feedback received from end customers.

This project is undoubtedly one of the most cutting-edge ones initiated by Regesta LAB and Clarex; it was awarded in 2019 as Bronze Winner of the Innovation category, as part of the SAP Quality Awards Italy.
