The SAP Quality Awards is SAP Italy’s initiative to celebrate and recognize customers who have excelled in implementing SAP solutions in the following categories:
- Innovation – projects with innovative content
- Fast Delivery – agile and fast projects
- Business Transformation – business transformation and redesign projects
During SAP NOW 2019, Regesta and Feralpi Group received the Bronze Winner award in the Innovation category for the “Predictive Quality and Traceability” project applied to the continuous casting process with SAP Leonardo. Francesco Besacchi, CIO of Feralpi Group, and Nicola Segnali, Business Innovation Manager of Regesta, collected the award.
The project was developed on the continuous casting stage, identified as the most critical stage of the process, to resolve any production problems before they occur. Data, thanks to more than 200 IoT sensors, are collected in real time and represented in a Digital Twin that reports where, when and by what factor a flaw occurs. The information collected goes into Machine Learning models, which reprocess it and improve the system’s predictions, in a virtuous circle.
