On October 8 and 9, 2014 in Darmstadt, Germany, the SAP Mining and Metals Forum, one of the world’s most influential events on the subject of metals, was staged. In the European home of heavy industry, several outstanding multinationals took turns, from Arcelor Mittal Mining to Gerdau, from Tenaris to ThyssenKrup. These are the key players in the industry who shared from the perspective of those who guide the world market what companies of international caliber need to implement digital facilities. Being a world leader requires constant updating of data sharing processes, material flow management, and real monitoring of production and inventory.
\nThe two-day German event featured a parterre of experts at all levels; speakers who interested company executives attending from major European countries and the Middle East included Guillermo Romani, It Global Delivery Director at Tenaris; Eckhardt Sless, Global Vice President, Industry Business Unit Mill Products & Mining; and, again, Ingrid-Helen Arnold, CIO and Head of Cloud Delivery and member of the Global Managing Board at SAP: they were joined by a long list of executives from South America to Asia who shared their experiences.
